STORY
Dr. Abi graduated with honors from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and obtained her medical degree from The Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem North Carolina.
Her journey as an on-air expert and media personality began in the fall of 2018 when she was interviewed by the local CBS affiliate in San Diego for her work in helping patients to quit vaping and tobacco use. Her friendly, engaging manner and ease in front of the camera was remarkable. Since then, she has been interviewed several times on all the local TV stations in San Diego including CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, KUSI, KPBS and well as on KOGO radio. She has been featured in national news outlets as well, including Forbes, HuffPost, Cosmopolitan, Insider, Yahoo, MSN, Reader’s Digest, Refinery29, Best Life, Woman’s Day and many more. Her thoughtful, insightful and approachable commentary and analysis is repeatedly sought out by the news media. She often identifies angles or points others have not considered. She is passionate about providing evidence-based, accessible health education with a focus on empathy.
Dr. Abi also works with the Public Relations Department of her medical group to pitch trending news topics to the media and often assists with script writing, segment planning and production of her news segments.
